Dave works for MGH in their Sports Med Department primarily with Athletes and shares career advice on how to get the most out of your first decade of practice. A graduate of Northeastern University, David is an expert clinician in orthopedic physical therapy with more than a decade of clinical experience. David is recognized by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties as a Clinical Specialist in orthopedics and has earned the designation of Fellow by the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists. Throughout his career David has demonstrated a passion for lifelong learning, by completing both a post-graduate residency at the Institute for Orthopedic Manual Therapy and a fellowship in orthopedic manual therapy at Boston University.
 
David began his career in private practice where he marketed and managed the opening of a denovo clinic. He has also served as a clinical instructor for physical therapy students. David is active in his alumni community and served as Chair of the Young Alumni Advisory Board in 2021–2022. David and his wife Vanessa enjoy travel, fine dining, rooting for New England teams, and spending time with their rescue cat and dog.

Dr. Lordan interviews Dr. Pete Barone, a residency trained orthopedic and manual physical therapist who currently works as an Outpatient PT in Woburn, Massachusetts. Dr. Pete explains how he got to where he is today, and some advice that he wish he had given his younger self when he was a new grad physical therapist. Listen in for some great career advice and clinical pearls.
 
More about Dr. Barone:
Dr. Barone has been practicing physical therapy since 2012, after graduating from University of Hartford with a Bachelors in Health Science and a Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy. During his time at the University of Hartford, he played Lacrosse at the division one level. Pete is focused on assisting patients return to the activities that they love and enjoy. He started his career in Connecticut, working for Hartford Hospital Outpatient Division and worked there for 2 years before moving to Massachusetts to be closer to family. During his career, Pete has worked with several local high school sports working on strength and conditioning programs to help them achieve their goals. Dr. Barone is Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS), a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), has complete level one of the Institute of Manual Therapy, and has received his Fellowship of Orthopedic Manual Therapy (FAAOMPT) from Boston University. Dr. Barone is certified in Dry Needling, Graston Technique and Kinesiotaping. Throughout his career, Dr. Barone has worked with a wide variety of patients, from children to geriatric population. He specializes in orthopedic injuries, joint replacements, and complex surgical rehabilitation. He has worked with athletes from high school to professional levels.
